What am I doing wrong?

I've tried hard to give tutorials, list instructions, and provide answers to the most commonly asked questions, but I surely haven't thought of everything. Also, at the end of the day we're at the mercy of the internet and the capabilities of Google Sheets. Most of the time, there is an easy solution to problems you are experiencing, but occasionally, I get stumped.
